Cropping vs deleting content

It's worth understanding that cropping typically hides content outside the new boundary rather than permanently deleting it from the underlying page data — this matters because a crop can sometimes be adjusted or undone later, but it also means the file might still technically contain the "removed" content, which is relevant if you're cropping out something sensitive rather than just excess white space.

Consistent cropping across every page

If a scanned document has the same excess margin on every page (a consistent scanner bed border, for example), apply the same crop boundary to all pages at once rather than adjusting each page individually — inconsistent cropping across pages of the same document looks unpolished and can misalign content between pages.
